New Sleeping Spots

Why did we even bother getting a bed? About 2 weeks ago, Logan started getting up in the middle of the night, just to play. Mommy was not a happy camper getting up for several hours at a time (normally from 1-4). Tim took out everything that he could possibly play with toys, books, balls, everything! Logie would still come out and try and talk to the dogs who are kept on the main floor at night.

Now he has switched to sleeping in odd spots. Some nights under the bed, we've found him in the closet, and now tonight in the middle of his floor. Why bother with beds??

Long Weekend

Things have been a whirlwind around here. Logan stayed with my mom and Dad last weekend while we made the 8 hour trek to Minnesota. Tim's Dad was having a surprise 50th party, and we are saving our vacation days for my maternity leave. We left Friday around 3:30 to get to the hotel around midnight....and it was 50 degrees colder than when we left! (84 - 33) The party was on Saturday and we left Sunday early afternoon. By the time we got home Sunday around 7:30 we were exhausted! We are still attempting to catch up on our sleep.

Outside Play

Can't beat a 75 degree day in April....especially after the long winter we've had. Logan had a ball playing outside, literally. He had a bunch of new toys from his birthday, and ones he hadn't seen in a while! Playing t-ball, mowing the lawn with his bubble mower, riding in his car and on his big wheels. He couldn't decide which was best, I do think he however mowed my whole lawn!

every time bubbles were coming out he would stop to catch them, of course then the bubbles stopped!

I couldn't get a good pic of his lip

My Poor Logie!

Yesterday was a dramatic day to say the least. I get a call from the baby sitter at school, not on my cell phone and i know this can't be great because she never has to call! The first thing she says is that Logan is o.k. now. I don't like the last word, now! Once a month he goes with her to a mom's group at Church and yesterday was the day.

Anyway, Logan was running in the nursery and tripped over his own feet (I wish it was something a little better) and fell straight into a wooden rocking chair. He had two teeth (not the front, but on the side) go straight through his lip to where you could see them. After a few minutes, he was fine....just a huge lip and two holes coming through!

Fortunately the teeth stayed in and didn't chip. They can't do stitches because in the mouth they'll dissolve or being a toddler he would pull them out. So, we just have to deal with a big fat lip! I think it bothers me more than it does him!

I tried to get some pics, but couldnt' get anything good. I'm going to try again tonight.

24 Weeks!

Wow, time is flying by.....i guess we should do a belly picture since I am now huge! Here is where Nathan Bradley is at right now....

Since he's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), that makes for a pretty lean figure, but her body's filling out proportionally. Your baby's brain is growing rapidly, and her taste buds may be working now. Her lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" and cells that produce surfactant, a substance that helps the air sacs inflate easily. Your baby can hear more now, and you may even notice her startle at loud, sudden noises. But she's probably getting used to the regular noises she hears around the house, such as your dog barking or the roar of a vacuum cleaner.

My mom and I went for my ultrasound on Wednesday, and I will post pics of how big he is getting this weekend!

Birthday Party!

This past Saturday we had Logan's second birthday party. It was beautiful outside, no snow like last year! It made the day go much smoother. I didn't take many pictures, but Logan was outside playing all day and I was inside with some of the adults. We had people come in from all over. It was a great to celebrate with family and friends.

Logan decided to eat his cake with a spoon! Better than last year, he licked it like a dog last year.

Bad mommy, i even forgot to get a pic of the whole cake! He had a Backyardigans party.

This is my rocking chair that I was given at my first birthday party, Logie made himself quite comfortable in it!

Yeah! A bubble mower. I may never get him inside this summer.

There was a card that when you opened it, it sang the Backyardigans theme song. Logan loved it, and Daddy kept teasing him!

Praise You In This Storm

For those of you who know what has been going on in my family for the past few days, this song hits home right now. I have been hearing it non stop on the radio and it makes me really try and think through everything.....

I was sure by now that You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away, stepped in and saved the day
but once again, I say "Amen," and its still raining
As the thunder rolls, I barely hear you whisper through the rain "I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls I raise my hands and praise the God that gives, And takes away

I'll Praise you in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
Every tear I've cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn , I will Praise You in this storm

I remember when I stumbled in the wind
You herd my cry and You raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can i carry on If I can't Find you As the thunder rolls
I barely hear you whisper through the rain "I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God that gives And takes away

Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord
The maker of Heaven and Earth I lift my eyes into the hills
Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord
The maker of Heaven and Earth I'll Praise you in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are No matter where I am
Every tear I've cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will Praise You in this storm And though my heart is torn I will Praise You in this storm
